This article explains how to add a default phone number to Etsy orders imported into the Swotzy platform.
Since Etsy does not require buyers to provide a phone number during checkout, imported orders may not include this information. Since most courier services require a phone number, Swotzy allows you to assign a default phone number to imported Etsy orders.
Result After Setup
Once this setting is configured:
- Imported Etsy orders without a buyer phone number will receive your default phone number
- You can process shipments more smoothly when a phone number is required by the courier
- You reduce the risk of shipment issues caused by missing recipient contact details
Before You Start
Make sure that:
- Your Etsy store is already connected to Swotzy
- You have access to your Etsy integration settings in Swotzy
For instructions on connecting your store, see this article: How to Integrate Etsy with Swotzy.
Step 1 — Open the Etsy Integration Settings
- Log in to your Swotzy account at app.swotzy.com
- In the left menu, click Integrations
- Find your connected Etsy store
- Click Manage
This opens the integration settings for your Etsy store.
Step 2 — Add the Default Phone Number
- Find the default phone number field
- Under Select Country, choose the correct country code
- Enter the default phone number
- Save your changes
The default phone number will now be assigned to imported Etsy orders when the buyer has not provided one.
Important
Courier services usually require a phone number to reduce the risk of returned shipments if the first delivery attempt is unsuccessful.
If the buyer has provided a phone number during checkout, we recommend adding that number manually whenever needed so the courier can contact the recipient directly.
