Who covers customs duties for shipments outside the EU?

• For shipments outside the EU, customs duty charges are typically covered by the recipient by default.
• The only courier service that allows you to choose who covers the customs duties is FedEx.
• When creating a new shipment outside the EU and selecting a FedEx courier service, you can choose to cover the customs duties yourself if desired.

To indicate that you will cover the customs charges when creating a new shipment on the Swotzy platform, on the right side of the page under Order summary, you will find a checkbox labeled Duties payor. Choose Sender, which means you will cover the customs charges instead of the recipient.
